Sterling Silver Highland Cow Pendant

The highland cow, also known as the Scottish Highland cattle, is an iconic breed originating from Scotland. These animals are recognized for their distinctive long horns, shaggy coats, and hump on their shoulders. The sand casting technique used to create this pendant involves pouring molten metal into a sand mold, which results in an intricate and textured surface. Recycled sterling silver is used to make this eco-friendly piece of jewellery.

The pendant’s design includes a circular frame that encases the highland cow figure. One of its eyes is left uncovered and accentuated with a 1.5mm cubic zirconia stone for added visual interest. The pendant’s surface has been highly polished to give it a lustrous shine, while the highland cow figure itself has been lightly oxidized to bring out the intricate details of its fur and long fringe. Oxidation is a natural process that occurs when sterling silver comes into contact with air or certain chemicals, resulting in a darkened appearance that adds character to the piece.
