As well as making silver jewellery, we also offer a resizing and repair service for both silver and gold jewellery. If you live in our local area you are quite welcome to bring your jewellery to our workshop for an evaluation and estimate of the costs to repair or resize. We also accept repair and resize work through our website, but in the first instance just contact us through our contact page to get the ball rolling.

The few before and after pictures below show two wedding rings, an eternity ring, and an engagement ring set with diamonds and sapphires which were resized by four sizes larger, and the gents wedding ring had two small cracks which were repaired.

Gold and silver ring resizing is a common practice in the jewellery industry. It involves altering the size of a ring to fit the wearer's finger comfortably. The process of resizing can be done on most types of rings, including gold and silver rings.

To resize a gold or silver ring, a jeweller will typically cut the band and add or remove metal as needed. If the ring needs to be made larger, the jeweller will add metal to the band by soldering an additional piece of metal onto it. If the ring needs to be made smaller, the jeweller will cut out a small piece of metal from the band and then solder it back together.

It is important to note that not all rings can be resized. For example, if a ring has intricate designs or gemstones set into it, resizing may not be possible without damaging the integrity of the design or stones. Additionally, some materials such as tungsten or titanium cannot be resized due to their hardness.

When considering having a gold or silver ring resized, it is important to find a reputable jeweller with experience in resizing rings. The cost of resizing can vary depending on factors such as the type of metal, amount of resizing needed, and any additional work required.
