A custom commission using Amber

I recently made up this pendant for a customer, using their own Amber stone that was originally housed in a sterling silver ring.
A few facts about Amber
Amber is a fossilized tree resin that has been used for jewellery for centuries. It is found in many parts of the world, but the most famous source is the Baltic Sea region. Amber is prized for its beauty, its variety of colours, and its inclusions of insects and other small creatures.
Amber is a soft stone, with a hardness of only 2.5 on the Mohs scale. This means that it can be easily scratched, so it is important to take care when wearing amber jewellery. However, its softness also makes it easy to work with, and it can be easily shaped and polished.
Amber is available in a wide range of colours, including yellow, orange, brown, red, green, and blue. The colour of amber is determined by the type of tree that produced the resin. For example, pine resin produces yellow amber, while birch resin produces brown amber.
Amber is also known for its inclusions. These are small pieces of plant or animal matter that were trapped in the resin when it was still liquid. Inclusions can be anything from insects to leaves to feathers. They are a fascinating feature of amber, and they can add to the value of a piece of jewellery.
Amber is a popular choice for jewellery because it is beautiful, affordable, and easy to care for. It is also a very versatile stone, and it can be used in a variety of different styles. Whether you prefer simple or elaborate jewellery, amber is a great option.
Here are some tips for choosing and caring for amber jewellery:

With proper care, your amber jewellery will last for many years to come.
